I’m currently reviewing OpenPanel for production use and really appreciate the modern architecture, isolation model, and flexibility you’ve built into the platform.
I wanted to ask whether there are any plans (now or in the future) to offer a Windows desktop application (Windows 10/11) that allows users to access their files via a simple drag-and-drop interface, similar to a synced folder or mounted drive.
In our experience, newer generations of users find FTP very old-fashioned and are increasingly reluctant to use it. Even within office environments, teams are often time-poor and workflow-driven—they don’t want to install and learn an FTP client just to move files. They expect file access to “just work” in a familiar desktop-style experience.
A lightweight Windows app with:
simple login
drag & drop file access
optional background sync
strong account isolation
would significantly improve usability and adoption, especially for:
storage-only hosting plans
backup vaults
media and asset storage
agency and office teams
